Faithful Love

Life is not always fair but God is always faithful! Unfailing love and faithfulness is what comes from our Heavenly Father.

As much as we try to live a life that is exemplary, it is still impossible for us to love perfectly and be faithful at all times. We make decisions and choices every day and hope that with God’s help they will have a good impact on our lives as well as the lives of others. If you are like me, I desire to live a life that is trustworthy, honest, faithful and loving. To live with the values that Jesus has shown to us…which the fruit of the Spirit are, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness” Galatians 5:22. Even when we mess up and we are unloving and unfaithful God still remains loving and faithful to us.

“If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself” 2 Timothy 2:13

In this season if I look at one who exemplified these qualities besides Jesus, I think of Mary. She had a faithful love, she honored God’s word to her, she rested upon His promises to her and she trusted God through the struggles and loved those around her in the most difficult times in her journey.

Proverbs 3:3 says “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.”

Love and faithfulness are sewn together; there cannot be one without the other. While God loves us we may not understand His purposes or His plans but we can trust His faithful love for us.

Psalm 85:10 says “Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.”

As we go into the Christmas season my challenge to you is to love and be faithful in all that God wants to do in your life.
