Happy Thanksgiving!

Today Canada celebrates Thanksgiving, many of us will be spending time with loved ones today… or you may have already had your celebrations over the weekend. There is so much that we can be thankful for ….family, friends, creation, the sunshine, to also know that God loves and cares for us….plus so much more!

Some of you may be saying I’m not so sure I can be thankful. Maybe you’re going through a rough time in your life and possibly experiencing feelings of hardship, suffering, and bitter disappointments. Being wrongly treated and hurt. As believers we can know that God will work amidst such situations to fulfill His good purpose in us. The situation may or may not be directly changed by God, but even if the situation stays difficult God guarantees ultimate good results that may enhance our lives and character. Whatever it is I can understand the feelings you may have but if we really look at what we have….there is always something that we can be thankful for. The Bible talks about how we need to be thankful in everything. It may be hard to be thankful for a life that doesn’t have a lot of good happening… but when you do, you’ll be encouraged! I Thessalonians 5:18 says, "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." This doesn’t mean you’re thankful for the particular situation in your life but that you’re thankful that God’s power can help you through it.

Sunday morning I heard a great message about how God is our comforter. In this life we will not always feel comfortable and in reality our feelings change and may be all over the place but God comforts us when we are sad, discouraged and in distress. He knows us personally and everything about us. We all go through different things in our lives and God understands because he himself went through many difficulties.

Everyone is different and we all have our own struggles and times of joy. I am thankful today to know that a number of people have said how encouraged and up lifted they have been by the songs on my Unshakable CD. I give praise and thank God that He is using my music to touch people’s lives, this is my prayer.
I hope today that you can find comfort in God and thank Him for all He has done and is doing in and around you!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
