No Need to Worry!

Starting off the New Year has been somewhat of a struggle as some of you know.  I haven’t been in the best of health and actually dealt with a couple of rounds of the flu virus that began in that latter part of 2012. I have needed to rest and recover, which is sometimes hard for me to do, especially when I have been anticipating and hoping that this year will be a great year of ministry!

As a result,  the start of organizing plans has been slower than I had hoped. With a newly released CD I still believe for the best and that it will be a year full of opportunities to share my music and the stories, to tour the country and impact people’s lives!

But  to be honest, with the way things were going I started to become anxious! I knew living in fear was not going to help, so  I took it to God  and He gave me a sense of calmness.

We may think that things are out of control when things aren’t going as planned but God has a perfect plan and a verse that came to me which has pulled me through even at other anxious times is“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6.

Another verse that also tells us not to worry is: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:25.

What good does it do to worry about our day or life?  God knows what is best for us, He is the one we need to trust and depend on, and He does take care of His own.

One of the best things we could do for ourselves is to laugh and be more optimistic. Proverbs 17:22 says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." It is good when we realize that we just need to lighten up, to find whatever humor we can, and not take ourselves too seriously.

God is good and His ways are better than mine. I’m excited about what God is going to do through me in this season and I want to be prepared and ready for all the great things He has in store. It’s up to us whether we will follow Him as He takes us to places that are beyond what we could wildly imagine.

What have you been worrying about, how can you find humor in it?  What do you think God will do?
