STEPS OF FAITH INTO THE NEW YEAR

As we are entering into a New Year what are you anticipating or what anxiety do you have? Are you hoping to see changes in what or how you’ve done things or are you hoping for some new successes, maybe become a better person or make some new resolutions?

I am hoping for a year of great ministry and opportunities!

One of the things that have shown important to me is my commit to believing God. (Yes, I have failed….we all fail as we are human and none of us is perfect.) I have a desire to be led by God to seek his direction daily.  But how many times in our daily lives do we get so busy that we are unable to focus our hearts and thoughts towards God who is all knowing?

It’s hard to hear from God amidst the noise of life and I acknowledge that my ministry is God’s and He has the perfect plan. Oh how I wish sometimes and maybe you do too, that we could see what is before us and to know what God is going to do!

I believe I have a strong faith but sometimes this is where my faith is weak. I am sure we all want to have a successful year ahead but of course we have no control if or in fact that will happen.  I have made some decisions and sometimes the greatest fear is whether I made the right ones. Our greatest need is to trust God and believe in His promises. He has promised He will never leave us, He has promised He wants the best for us and that He will take care of us. This is my assurance that when I commit myself to a relationship with Him, spend time with Him in prayer and read His Word, I will get to know Him and His ways.We have plans and we have goals and our heavenly Father desires us to commit all of those to Him.

Faith has five ingredients:

1. KNOWLEDGE: knowing and hearing.  Have we heard from God?
2. BELIEF: believing what you have heard is true.  Do you believe it is true?
3. COMMITMENT: commit to doing what you believe. Will you commit to doing something?
4. ACTION: actually do something about what you believe and know.  Will you take action on what you know and believe?
5. RESULTS: you will see the results of your knowledge, belief, commitment and action and because of that you will also be able to share this faith with others. Have you seen results from your actions?

One of the highlights last year was to finish my new CD Unshakable. This was a big step of faith! Friends and fans came out and had a wonderful time at the CD release party at the House of James in October! There were a few other ministry opportunities prior to that as well. Then the Christmas season was upon us and I was blessed to be able to take my music in a little different direction with opportunities to sing at Christmas banquets, my home church, caroling in the community and to also encourage the elderly. WHAT FUN WE HAD! (Be sure to check out the pictures and videos on my Facebook page!)

Of course, with the New Year I am looking forward to ministering, traveling, sharing songs from my
new album and encouraging fellow believers and seekers alike with the Good News of Christ in a variety of venues and events!

Things have been a little shaky in our world in more ways than one way. But personally after releasing this CD I have felt the shakiness and unstableness even in my field of interest and have heard how things are changing in the music world. I feel like I am being tested and tried but on the other hand I want to go forward boldly because I believe in what God has given me and what He has called me to and I want to be a faithful servant. I just pray that God will take care of the road blocks and that He will clear the way.
I am trusting God for great things as I take steps of faith.

I don’t know what your dreams and goals are but with God anything is possible and I believe it is best to trust Him with all that He has given us.

My prayer for you is that you would take steps of faith into the New Year and let God be your guide.
Matthew 14:29-31 (NIV) says:  “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

If you have any stories about what God has done as you stepped out in faith that you know would encourage others I would love for you to write those in the comments.

Wishing you a Blessed and Happy New Year!!
