Time To Reflect

Time to reflect … how does this fit in our world today?

Whether you are a business person, a mother who cares for her children at home or any situation in-between it’s always good to make room for reflection.

This however seems to be getting harder to do when we live in such a busy world, it’s sometime impossible to even have time for ourselves or for the things we enjoy! Other times we may enjoy our situation so much we don’t have time for the seriousness in life!

In general though, would it not be good to reflect on what is happening in our lives from time to time?

Here might be some ways of doing that:

- Relax and think about your life/situation
- Journal
- Look at your surroundings and listen
- Ask if and what changes are needed
- Don’t give up but look for direction

In this season of life I find that I need to reflect on my music ministry and what my next steps will be. It certainly isn't a comfortable time but nonetheless an important one! In the busyness of life our spiritual lives and relationship we have with God is easy to overlook.

Here is one way that we can reflect and take a look at the fruit that is being produced in our lives. These characteristics and questions will be able to help us grow in our Christian Faith and in our relationship to God and others:

During Lent there are things we are willing to give up, although those things may not bring us into a deeper relationship with Christ we need to intentionally do those things to draw closer to Christ.
Whether it is taking more time to be with Him in solitude, or to serve him and give him more of our time by actively being involved, it all has to do with the condition of our heart and devotion. Jesus desires nothing more than to have a close relationship with us; He wants to speak to us, to know we are hearing Him.

I believe the deeper we reflect on where we are in our spiritual life and our need for Christ the closer we will draw toward Christ, to  know who He is and what He wants for us!

As you take time to reflect, you may have questions. Good Friday and Easter are approaching and you may also want to read and reflect about our relationship with the cross.
